The atmosphere of this gastro pub is familiar and informal and you won't see here tourists but a young, fresh crowd of locals.

Furniture is simple, country style. The scrubbed wooden tables are all different from each other and you will be eating with no tablecloths perhaps sitting on armchairs instead of chairs with floral curtains adorning windows in front of you.

You probably know that in London today you can enjoy sophisticated dishes also in public houses that often include dining rooms, this is a more and more popular and affordable choice, there are hundreds around in town and this has something special.

Maybe because of bread, the first thing served for dinner which here is superb - it will be prepared by a well-travelled and creative, skilled baker, the chef Liam Kirwan - or maybe because Princes William and Harry have been described as "devoted fans".

The food is british with traditional recipes.

An example? Here we go:

Pan roasted scallops w/ cauliflower puree, caper and prune

dressing GBP 7.50

Tian of crab w/ brown shrimp mousseline

and avocado salsa              GBP 6.00

Fillet of rainbow trout w/ fennel, summer girolles and

lemon butter sauce GBP 15.00

The service is friendly "young", professional and efficient and the place is co-owned by Eamonn Manson, no less than the erstwhile stage manager of Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Madness and Iron Maiden.
